School Campus in Mersch

The school campus is composed of 2 new high schools, able to welcome 1600 students in respect of the following requirements: Inviting architecture, sustainable construction, bright and luminous spaces, direct communication channels between the zones and the large outdoor spaces.

The architectural concept is defined by:

• An animated and active school complex, offering school activities, arts and housing facilities on one single campus
• The creation of a set of several architectural volumes at different scales, suitable in terms of the environment and of the rural landscape
• A colour concept in order to differentiate the 2 school buildings
• A particular focus on energy efficiency

The Kuhn company mounted all of the 15.000sqm of insulating facades of approximately 30cm thickness, offering a heat transfer coefficient H of 0.12W/sqmK.
